When it comes to the KONA Coco, it’s a complete bike that we see a lot of here at Circles, following the Dew. Its "mixte" frame, characterized by a dropped top tube, makes it easy to step through even while wearing a skirt, which is why we highly recommend it as a daily commuter for women.
It comes standard with full fenders, making it a bike that’s sure to be a great asset for daily use from the day you buy it. For this build, we decided to add some extra carrying capacity to a bike that had already seen plenty of use, so we installed a SimWorks by NITTO Obento Rack and a WALD BL Half Basket. This significantly increased its cargo capacity, and on top of that, we suggested the classic RAL bag, the WB Loader.
The WB Loader is a tote-style bag that fits perfectly into the classic WALD 137 Basket. Attaching it to the basket is easy thanks to the four Velcro straps on the bottom of the bag, so when you get off the bike, you can just detach it and instantly transform it into a convenient shopping bag.
The key point is that it uses Cordura nylon for its material—it's incredibly sturdy and won't give up even with daily, rough use. The "secret sauce" is that it's also useful even when you're off the bike. Whether it’s for daily grocery shopping, or packing clothes for a trip or an expedition ride, once you start using it, it works well in any situation. It is truly the perfect bag.
By the way, if you use the optional Carry Strap (¥2,200), it can also double as a shoulder bag. It’s not the kind of strap that wraps tightly around your body like a sling-type messenger bag, but as mentioned above, it functions perfectly for trips to the supermarket after hopping off your bike or for getting around while traveling, making it a handy option to have.
This here is a cargo bike built by Kimura-san using a second-hand Specialized Rockhopper equipped with a CRUST BIKES Clydesdale Cargo Fork. It’s also a great idea to mount a GOOD L CORPORATION Shopping Basket—made by a commercial basket manufacturer in Tennessee, USA—and just toss a WB Loader right in.
There are 6 colors available in total. Additionally, as we announced on the blog the other day, the collaboration model with POBS x RUSS POPE is now available as an option. Unlike the standard colors, the interior uses a custom cross-hatch canvas fabric selected by Bob Scales, featuring screen-printed graphics by Russ Pope.
