[New Arrival] MKS / Sylvan Gordito

That pedal, which had everyone talking even before its release, has finally arrived at Circles!

The Sylvan Gordito is a new MKS pedal conceived and shaped by Matt from CRUST BIKES. The name is a cute choice, meaning "chubby" in Spanish.

The Sylvan Gordito: A bit chubbier than traditional MKS pedals

When it comes to MKS at Circles, the Sylvan Touring is definitely the gold standard. It’s the same in the U.S., where the Sylvan series holds a significant share in the touring and commuter bike fields—genres that CRUST BIKES excels in.

However, even with the Sylvan series, there was one thing that bothered Matt: the surface area felt insufficient. That makes sense, of course; for American tourers with larger feet, having a wide platform to firmly plant their feet on is non-negotiable.

Compared to the Sylvan Touring, the Sylvan Gordito has the same 94mm width, but it features an 85mm length, making it 22mm longer. While the Bubbly pedal is still a size larger, you can clearly see how much more platform area the Gordito has compared to the original Touring.

Now, not only American tourers but anyone with larger feet can pedal with confidence. Best of all, since it will be joining the standard MKS lineup, it’s definitely a pedal to watch as a new option for your bike builds.

As a side note, the black version of the Sylvan Gordito features matte black side plates, which sets it apart from the standard Sylvan series.

Given this shape, I decided to test it out, and it works great with pedal straps like HOLD FAST.
I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to enjoy Tracklocross or Gravel Fixed riding without using clipless pedals.

So, we have both black and silver in stock, and they are now up on our webshop!
