Talking with customers in the shop lately,
"I used to chase speed and light weight, but now I just want a bike that lets me enjoy all kinds of fun at my own pace."
is something I hear a lot.
I suspect plenty of you feel the same way.
Using the bike as a tool to see views you wouldn't normally see, to head down unfamiliar roads, to eat something delicious.
When I think of a "bike you can enjoy, detours and all," the first thing that comes to mind is BIKE FRIDAY. Easy to take on a trip, yet once you're there it rides properly and you can really play. And in everyday life around town, it's nimble too.
Among BIKE FRIDAY's models, one that really stands out is the ALL Packa.
We built one up as a shop-floor bike for Circles Tokyo, and it turned out really well, so let me introduce it.
More than just "foldable": a small-wheeled bike that really rides.
BIKE FRIDAY ALL Packa

The BIKE FRIDAY All Packa is a model optimized for dirt, gravel and bikepacking, built on the folding-bike know-how BIKE FRIDAY has developed over many years.
With tire clearance up to around 2.8 inches, it has go-anywhere capability you'd never expect from a small-wheeled bike.
Small-wheeled bikes tend to be seen as "for riding around town," but the All-Packa is different. It makes you want to wander onto forest roads, rough gravel, and unfamiliar roads wherever you're traveling. It's a bike that stirs up your sense of adventure.
On top of that, its biggest appeal is how the folding mechanism makes it easy to carry in a car or take on the train.
Not just "you can bring it on your trip,"
but "the trip itself becomes freer."
That's the feeling this bike gives you.

Here's my blog post about traveling on a BIKE FRIDAY, for reference.
"From everyday riding, straight into a trip"
The All-Packa we built at Circles Tokyo was assembled around the theme
"a bike you can take from everyday riding straight into a trip."

I ride a BIKE FRIDAY New World Tourist myself, and I use it exactly the way the theme describes. Talking with people in the shop, I've found many share that same feeling, so I built this ALL Packa around the same concept.
This shop-floor bike makes the most of the ALL Packa's character with a solid, tough setup down low. The wider tires make it comfortable around town while still being ready for more active rides.
Despite being 20-inch, the stiff small-diameter wheels feel dependable even on rough surfaces.
It reminds me once again that a small-wheeled bike isn't "a compromise because it's compact,"
but a bike that can actually use its size as a weapon.

VELOCITY CliffHANGER × WHITE INDUSTRIES is a combination I personally use a lot when building 20-inch wheels.
Focused on stiffness and durability, it stands up to daily riding, long tours and gravel, and gives you few problems on the road.
WHITE INDUSTRIES hubs look rugged, but the Pink color softens the vibe. Playing with colors really is fun.

The tires are SCHWALBE Smart Sam.
They match the BIKE FRIDAY All Packa so well you'd think they were made for it.
It's a model that balances on-road rolling with off-road use, and its optimized tread pattern improves handling.
They're less tiring on long rides and very durable, so you can use them with confidence for everything from daily commuting and school runs to proper trail rides.
They're super stable even on constantly changing surfaces like gravel and mud.

The crank is MIDDLEBURN. Another rugged, handsome piece.
It's made from "A7075," an aluminum alloy favored by the aerospace industry. Combining light weight with high stiffness, it's produced through forging and CNC machining.
The logo being engraved and ink-filled rather than printed is a really nice touch.
The fun of loading it up is part of this bike's charm.
The All Packa has plenty of eyelets, so bottle cages, cargo cages and frame bags are all fair game.

Load it with camping gear and head off on a trip.
Or fit a rack and make it part of your daily life.
Carrying capacity may be more than just a feature; it's where a person's relationship with their bike shows. It's also where personality comes through, isn't it?

Being able to carry things on your bike also gives you a little breathing room in everyday life.
When you're out on your bike, there are surprisingly many moments where you think, "I'm on my bike today, so I can't carry that home…"
In the first place, you might unconsciously narrow your options: "That shop looks interesting, but I'm on my bike today, so I'll skip it. Even if I find something good, I can't take it home…"
But that's a shame, isn't it?
You might be missing out on great finds and happy accidents.
Using a bike that can carry things every day isn't simply about being able to "haul stuff." It widens your range of action, your perspective, and the very world you see.
A bike that expands the ways you can enjoy cycling.

Load it in the car and head off on a trip.
Take the Shinkansen out to the countryside.
Pop over to the supermarket.
BIKE FRIDAY is a bike that really lowers the barrier to getting around.
And thanks to the supple ride that's unique to a chromoly frame, long distances feel genuinely great.
Not just "speed," but "how freely you can play."
If that way of thinking speaks to you, I'm sure this bike will hit the spot.
It's currently on display and for sale at Circles Tokyo.

There's a lot that photos can't fully convey, like the sense of size, the ride feel and how fun the folding mechanism is, so I'd love to chat with you in front of the actual bike.
