Mountain Clog
A few years ago, BEDROCK SANDALS moved its base from Oakland, California, to Missoula, Montana, a place surrounded by abundant nature and outdoor opportunities.
Remote mountains, flowing rivers, and endless forests—they wanted to feel and experience more by being closer to the nature they loved. Montana was the ideal playground for these sandal enthusiasts.
However, when the winter cold truly sets in, a challenge arises.
"Is it possible to create something that doesn't lose the free feeling of a sandal, even in cold environments?"
That is how the Mountain Clog was born.
Infused with the complete DNA of BEDROCK SANDALS, we have perfected a sandal that fully covers the toes.
Thanks to the design that wraps around the toes, they are comfortable to wear even in the chilly seasons. When paired with thick socks, the warmth is outstanding. Furthermore, you don’t have to worry about injuries from bumping your toes or dropping things, making them a safe and active choice.
In addition, their subdued colorways and rounded, cute form make them a "stylish pair" that works in any setting for everyday wear.
Mountain Clog Details and Functionality
The instep and heel straps can be adjusted with G-hooks, just like our sandals. Since there is no toe-post strap, the hold is slightly reduced, but in return, you get a sense of freedom for your toes. The strap on the outside of the instep can be released in one action, and since it can firmly secure your foot, taking them on and off is smooth and easy.
The footbed has a gentle, three-dimensional shape that sits right between the completely flat Cairn Evo and the Cairn Evo 3D, which is shaped to support the sole of the foot. It also has a good thickness, providing high cushioning and preventing fatigue even when worn all day.
The outsole was newly designed specifically for the Mountain Clog.
While it has the functionality needed for outdoor activities, it is also designed to be suitable for situations like pedaling a bicycle or for everyday use.
Furthermore, because the material uses Vibram® Megagrip, it demonstrates outstanding grip even on watersides or muddy paths.
The toe area is rubber-coated for safety and durability. They are also tough enough to conquer the 800-mile (approx. 1,300km) Arizona Trail, so you can use them with peace of mind even in harsh environments.
Materials and New Colors
There are three types of upper materials: Nubuck, real Suede leather, and Synthetic leather.
Uses ECCO oiled nubuck leather that has been carefully tanned using the sustainable Dri-Tan process.
The unlined, single-piece leather upper gently wraps around the foot while possessing the robustness for long-term use. Resistant to water and dirt, the natural patterns that deepen with use create a unique look.
The nubuck model is available in three colors, with Obsidian Dark Gray joining the continuing Brown and Driftwood Gray. This new color is sophisticated, blending into natural landscapes while also having an urban feel!

Uses durable leather suede, resulting in a lightweight and supple finish. The lining adopts a soft polyester spacer mesh, providing excellent comfort and breathability.
Birch Bark joins the continuing Green and Plum in the suede leather model. The gentle color matches the rounded form, giving it a cute impression.

The surface uses Clarino® microfiber and is characterized by being produced in an environmentally friendly way. Reducing water usage and CO₂ emissions is another key point.
Furthermore, the lining is backed with a polyester spacer mesh, combining durability for worry-free use with comfortable wear.
The synthetic suede model is available in two new colors: Obsidian Black and Pinecone.

Sizing and Care
Compared to the Cairn Evo series, these are made slightly smaller. Therefore, if you wear the Cairn Evo series in a snug, exact size, we recommend going up one size.
Also, because they are intended to be worn with socks, they are made about one size larger than the standard Cairn series.
You may find the width feels a bit loose when worn barefoot, but you can hold the foot firmly in place by adjusting the three straps.
