【TORAYA EQUIPMENT】A collaborative bag that embodies the concept of bicycle travel as a journey. – 105 Circles

The act of moving around by bicycle—whether it’s your daily commute, a long weekend ride, or a touring trip—has, to no small extent, an aspect of travel to it.

TORAYA EQUIPMENT is a manufacturer that creates tools for travel.

For them, travel means being influenced in various ways through encounters with nature, people, and culture. No matter the means, country, or place—even a stroll through the neighborhood or your daily commute—is a form of travel. By simply taking a street one over from your usual route, you might just find a new encounter.

They always say that they want to look firmly at the theme of travel, receive inspiration from traditional Japanese culture and lifestyles, cherish craftsmanship that only Japanese people can do, and carry on the travel and manufacturing cultures of the modern day.

Born from our conversations with TORAYA EQUIPMENT, the Circles special bag, “105 Circles,” is finally complete.

We had them firmly shape our selfish requests so that it would serve as a companion you’ll want to carry everywhere—from your daily commute, weekend train-assisted touring, and trail rides, to light hikes and, of course, as your partner for traveling.

The 105 Circles is a bag based on the “105 SINGLE” from TORAYA EQUIPMENT’s regular lineup, packed with features that cyclists will appreciate.

1: Large front pocket for helmets and shoes

The large front pocket, located outside the main compartment, provides enough space to stow a helmet or shoes. This is useful for train-assisted touring and "Bike to Hike" trips.

2: Side pocket perfectly sized for bottles

The side pocket is perfectly sized for water bottles or plastic bottles and features a drawcord so it can be adjusted to the size of the contents. It’s ideal for stowing the bottle you had in your cage once you’ve gotten off your bike, and it’s also convenient for carrying a to-go coffee bottle.

3: Removable tool pouch on the bottom

A tool pouch, convenient for storing puncture repair kits or portable tools, is attached to the bottom of the bag. It is detachable, so you can remove it when not needed, and the pouch can also be used on its own.

4: Mesh material on the back and shoulder straps

Sweat when carrying a bag is the cyclist's greatest enemy. We requested that the linings of the back and shoulder straps of the 105 Circles be made entirely of mesh. It’s finished to be comfortable to wear even in summer.

5: Durable fabric with PVC backing

Rather than aiming for "ultralight," we adopted a nylon material that is lightweight yet durable and water-repellent, making it easy to use from daily commutes to travel companions. By adding a PVC backing, we gave it the durability that cyclists love.

"In order for people to use our products for a long time, we want to explain their pros and cons directly. We want everyone to feel the encounters that come from 'going outside'."

With this sentiment, TORAYA EQUIPMENT also features "gyosho" (peddling)—a traditional form of face-to-face sales. They sew each item carefully by hand upon receiving an order, choose environmentally friendly materials, and make it a point not to waste materials.

Because of this, their items are not normally found in stores, but for this collaboration, we insisted on having them produced as a standard stock model for Circles, and we are now offering them in our shop.

It has turned out to be the ultimate bag that fits various forms of travel according to the user and can be used for years to come regardless of trends. We hope you will choose the 105 Circles as your travel companion and for new encounters!
