BIKE FRIDAY’s Highly Anticipated New Model: The All-Packa
The All-Packa is the new model from BIKE FRIDAY released last year. Marketed as a "frame optimized for dirt and gravel bikepacking, drawing on 30 years of Bike Friday’s experience," this is a model we at Circles have been eagerly looking forward to.
While it looks quite similar to the existing Diamond Llama model, please be sure to check this blog post written by Mako-san to learn about the differences.
It was a little while ago now, but a wonderful All-Packa recently headed off on its new adventure, so I’d like to introduce it to you.

Outstanding Expandability with Abundant Eyelets
While you can mount racks, the bike is built to encourage light and nimble bikepacking using saddlebags and handlebar bags, featuring an abundance of eyelets on the top tube and both sides of the fork blades. Depending on your destination and how you like to ride, you can expand your carrying capacity with items like 3-bolt cages.

Overwhelming Tire Volume
When it comes to the All-Packa, what I personally love is the massive tire clearance, which can swallow tires up to 2.4" wide. Taking advantage of this, we chose the KENDA Booster Pro for this build—a 2.4"-wide tire, which is a rare find in the 20-inch size.

The rims matched to these are the VELOCITY Cliffhanger. When you need a 20-inch (406) rim that can accommodate a 2.4" tire while remaining sturdy, this rim is in a league of its own. With this setup, you can travel with a full load with peace of mind, and even tackle any nice-looking forest roads you discover along the way without hesitation.

No Blind Spots with a Short-Cage Rear Derailleur
The main component used is microSHIFT’s Advent, equipped with a Super Short rear derailleur.
When building a BIKE FRIDAY with a 1x drivetrain, the Super Short series has become our go-to choice. While microSHIFT originally developed this for small-wheeled bikes like kids' bikes to prevent the rear derailleur from hitting the ground, it works perfectly for 20-inch small-wheel bikes as well.
I remember giving a fist pump when the All-Packa was announced, realizing it was the perfect bike to take advantage of the Super Short series.
This is a bike that allows for various ways to enjoy your journey—fold it up to pack in a car, carry it on an airplane for a bikepacking trip, or cruise along gravel paths you’ve scouted on a map. Personally, I think it’s also great for "Bike-to-Fishing." For those who use a bicycle as a way to reach fishing spots, the high portability provided by the BIKE FRIDAY’s signature folding ability is a major strong point.
Since it's a bike that excels at such uses, please feel free to consult with us if reading this has sparked some big dreams for you!
