Today, I’m introducing a new product from WILDE. It’s a new headset that was first unveiled at MADE last summer.
While it may be "new," it uses a 1-inch threaded standard. Precisely because we live in an era where so many different standards compete, this item highlights a traditional, long-standing spec, realized through modern superior materials and manufacturing processes. It is packed with the character of Jeff, a self-confessed bike geek.
A Savior to Replace the CHRIS KING 2Nut
When considering a threaded headset for long-term use, CHRIS KING has always been the go-to candidate.
Currently, the 1-inch model CHRIS KING offers is a type called the GripNut, but back in the day, they also sold a model known as the 2Nut.

Each has its own characteristics, but if you want to install a head spacer or a cable hanger, you need the 2Nut.
However, now that the 2Nut has been discontinued, it has become difficult to find a high-performance, play-free headset that meets those requirements, leaving a gaping void in the market.
WILDE x CANE CREEK
Jeff, feeling the need to fill that void, decided to team up with CANE CREEK to create this original headset.
The result is the Cane Creek 110 ZN 1″ Threaded Headset.

The 110 series sits at the top of CANE CREEK’s lineup as their flagship. It uses the same cups made from the same high-end materials as their 110-year-warranty top-tier headsets, combined with the same grade of bearings used in their standard 40 series, achieving high performance at a relatively accessible price point.

With this setup, it is possible to install steerer spacers or a wire stop for cantilever brakes on the frame.
For a track bike, like a keirin frame, the previously mentioned CHRIS KING GripNut type works fine, but for randonneurs and touring bikes that require a certain handlebar height, or for builds using cantilever brakes, this system is indispensable.

There are quite a few "CHRIS KING 2Nut refugees" out there, so this is truly great news. Even today, rim brake and 1-inch threaded frames still exist; the standard hasn't disappeared, so it's a huge relief to have a reliable, usable option again.
Being a small brand allows for this kind of agility, which is one of WILDE's strengths. And hats off to Jeff—a true bike geek—for his commitment to creating what he believes is necessary, regardless of trends!

NITTO Country Bar is also back in stock

Additionally, the Country Bar, Jeff’s vision of a modern off-road touring bar that perfectly complements the WILDE / Supertramp, is back in stock.

Jeff, who has a deep knowledge of old MTBs, created this bar with the desire to make the dream off-road touring bar, just like the early MTB pioneers of the 1980s. The unconventional 800mm extra-wide bar features a unique shape that rises and sweeps back toward the rider.
A wide bar that offers both sufficient rise and backsweep is surprisingly rare. It’s perfect for a modern ATB like the Supertramp.
It allows for an upright, comfortable cruising position, and while it might not handle as sharply as a dedicated trail bike, it offers enough confidence to easily handle the occasional downhill trail you might encounter during a dirt tour.

Of course, it’s manufactured by the reliable Nitto. Please give this bar a try—it's comfortable and offers just the right amount of flex thanks to its width.
