There is something about the bikes built by Jeremy Sycip of Sycip Bikes that is just brimming with kindness.
Of course, he builds a wide range of bikes, from race bikes for serious riders to lovely commuter bikes, and his sense of humor is reflected directly in his bicycles. He is also proactive in working with various materials, not just steel, but also titanium and aluminum. Personally, I highly recommend the aluminum frames he makes. (Anyone want to build one up for racing?!)
This time, it was an order from S-san, a member of CRC.
S-san, who actively participates in cyclocross races, mainly the Kansai CX, requested a "bike that can be enjoyed for both CX racing and weekend touring." As a result, we opted not to go with race geometry, finishing the bike instead with stable, reliable handling. Both the original segmental fork and the frame have rack eyelets, making it possible to attach a rack for touring. With its down-to-earth, natural assembly, it is sure to make for some wonderful weekends ahead.
With that, S-san took his new bike straight to the Kansai CX race. It seems he really enjoyed the dialogue with his new machine. Weighing in at 10.3kg with the steel fork installed, it is quite lightweight for a tourer! He mentioned the weight wasn't a bother during the race, either. Let's head out to all sorts of places from here on out!
