【Just Arrived】SKLAR BIKES / Super Something

The highly anticipated SKLAR BIKES production model, the Super Something, which we have been taking pre-orders for, has finally arrived! Since they are shipped directly from Taiwan, we have them in stock sooner than anywhere else in the world!

Adam provided us with a sample frame in Ocean Blue / Green, so this is our first time seeing the Honey Dijon color in person. As it is Adam’s own favorite color, it has turned out to be a really fantastic finish.

We have already notified customers who placed pre-orders, and while some sizes and colors are already sold out, they are now available for immediate delivery, so we would like to provide an update on our stock.

Additionally, while we previously announced an estimated price of 330,000 yen (tax included) during the pre-order period, we have reviewed the exchange rates and shipping costs, allowing us to offer a slightly more accessible price of 319,000 yen (tax included).

How will you build yours?

Created as a versatile all-road gravel bike, the Super Something is truly a multi-purpose "platform" that meets every need for enjoying rides on various road surfaces and in diverse landscapes. It is a bike designed to grow and evolve alongside the rider’s style.

Because of this, one of its charms is that it can be built in so many different ways depending on the rider. We are all very much looking forward to seeing how each of these will be assembled.

This Ocean Blue / Green color is set up with drop bars and gears—the most classic assembly. It’s the kind of build that lets you choose your tires based on the terrain or how you want to ride, ready to go anywhere, anytime.

In contrast, this Honey Dijon build features upright bars for a comfortable position and utilizes the rocker dropouts for a single-speed configuration. From daily commuting to going the extra mile for an all-terrain adventure, this setup really showcases the depth of the Super Something platform.

Super Something Q&A

We have compiled some of the questions regarding the Super Something that have been sent to Adam and us below!

– What type of brakes can be used?

The Super Something is compatible with post-mount brakes. This is the standard Adam often uses on his own bikes due to its ease of adjustment, braking power, and versatility.

If you wish to use flat-mount caliper brakes, you can install them on the rear by switching the rocker mount to a flat-mount type. (The B4048 model from PARAGON MACHINE WORKS is compatible.)

For the front, you can use an ENVE Adventure Fork, or if using the stock steel fork, you can use an AS Solution or Wolf Tooth mount adapter. (Please note that depending on the brake, you may need to file down the fork mount or the adapter.)

– Is frame saver treatment necessary?

The frames are ED-coated before painting, so anti-rust treatments like frame saver are not required.

– Is it compatible with front derailleurs?

The Super Something is designed for a 1x drivetrain (maximum chainring size: 44T). However, depending on the chainring size, a 2x setup is also possible.

– Can fenders be installed?

Yes! It is designed to accommodate both 700c x 50mm tires and fenders. If you plan to ride in muddy conditions with fenders, we recommend a maximum tire size of 48mm to ensure sufficient clearance.

– What headset and baseplate sizes are required?

The head tube is tapered, and the fork uses a 1-1/8" straight steerer. It is compatible with an EC34/28.6 upper and EC44/30 lower headset.

As mentioned above, if using CHRIS KING, you can use the NoThreadSet Tapered 1.5″ combined with the Baseplate Devolution 1-1/2″ > 1-1/8″.

– What is included with the frame set?

The frame set includes a seat clamp and front and rear thru-axles.
