That long-awaited beast has finally arrived.
After announcing pre-orders at the beginning of the year and receiving orders from many of you—for which we are truly grateful—the highly anticipated new model from SKLAR, the PBJ, is here.
We dive deep into its features in the blog post below, so please be sure to give it a read.
Because we initially offered this via pre-order, we received inquiries asking if it would ever be in stock again—rest assured, we have ordered plenty of inventory for you.
So, they have arrived in all sizes and colors, and we are ready to guide you through them!

Jumping Straight into the Build
One of our pre-order customers is participating in OMM Bike this coming weekend, and we managed to source the parts in time to finish the build. So, let’s take a look at that bike right away.

The brakes, drivetrain, and dropper post on this build were transferred from the MTB they were already riding.

The original 3D yoke supports up to a 36T chainring and ensures tire clearance for 29×2.6″.
Additionally, thanks to the original slider dropouts, it supports single-speed configurations and variable wheelbase adjustments. Since this is the customer's first 29er and they want to enjoy trail riding, we set it to the most compact setting for a snappy, responsive ride.

Fortunately, the seatpost size on the original bike was also 31.6mm. The drop length was just right, so we were able to transplant the dropper post as is.
The seat tube also features internal routing for dropper posts, allowing for a clean build.

For the handlebar, we used the SimWorks Fun3 at 750mm, which I use with the same setup.
This bike is designed around a modern MTB geometry with a slightly longer front center and shorter stem, embodying Adam’s vision for a fun geometry. While a bar with a moderate backsweep is recommended, I personally feel the Fun3 at 750mm is the ultimate choice in terms of balance.

And now, the crucial wheel choice. Since we were transferring parts from a bike with a different wheel diameter, we built up a fresh set of wheels.
We chose TERAVAIL’s Honcho 29×2.6″ tires for a trail-versatile setup. For the rims, we went with ASTRAL’s Serpentine, hand-laced to CLD+ hubs from WHITE INDUSTRIES (now part of the same group company).
Considering both trail riding and adventure rides like dirt touring or OMM Bike, I believe this is the best rim choice for the PBJ, given the balance of weight, strength, and tubeless compatibility. Naturally, we have stocked these as a regular item alongside this PBJ arrival, so please consult with us.

Test Ride at OMM Bike in Hakuba Iwatake this Weekend!
Yes, OMM LITE/BIKE HAKUBA OTARI 2025 will be held at Hakuba Iwatake this weekend. I’ll be participating for the first time in a while! On the PBJ, of course!
Along with GO, who always shoots our videos, I will be competing as Team PBJ.

I’m on an S size / Salmon, and GO is on an L size / Moss Grey. We’ll have them on display in front of our booth after the race, so if you’ve been curious about the bike, please come by for a test ride.
We will also have merchandise for sale, focusing on BEDROCK SANDALS, so whether you’re racing or just looking for a cool getaway, please come visit us in Hakuba this weekend. (That area really is the ultimate location for riding!)
※ Please note that the test bikes will not be available at our Nagoya or Tokyo stores this weekend, but you can see the framesets in person, so please stop by if you’ve been considering one.
PBJ Bars Are Also in Stock!

Additionally, along with the arrival of these frames, we also have the PBJ Bar, which Adam designed specifically for this bike.

These are aluminum handlebars designed to handle diverse terrain, featuring enough backsweep for comfort on long-distance tours while maintaining rigidity and a nice, compliant feel.
The goal of increasing the backsweep is to place your wrists and arms in a more natural, comfortable position. However, recognizing that more sweep can reduce handling precision on technical terrain, Adam settled on 28 degrees as the optimal balance.
This is the sweet spot that allows you to enjoy technical riding while maintaining comfort.

Because of this, the PBJ Bar is suited for touring bikes, rigid mountain bikes, and even flat-bar gravel bikes.
We also recommend them for builds like a BASSI Hog’s Back with an upright riser, or even a SURLY Karate Monkey.

The riser bend on the PBJ Bar is angled slightly forward. This is another feature designed so that, compared to other bars with significant backsweep, your hands don’t end up too far behind the stem. This allows for the comfortable riding position characteristic of swept-back bars while maintaining compatibility with modern MTB geometry, without the need for an excessively long stem.
