While brand-new, sparkling parts are nice, there's nothing I love more than seeing well-worn tools.
These SimWorks By Honjo / Turtle 44 Brass fenders were installed two and a half years ago on a bike that serves as my daily ride for commuting and trips around town. I haven't done anything special to them; this unique, beautifully aged patina of the brass is simply the result of putting them to good use.

There's a certain quality to that texture, as if it's pleading with me to "use it even more!" It's not something you can recreate artificially; it's the character that only a tool can show when it has been continuously used over time.
It might be a little early, but I realized I need to start preparing for the rainy season. That was my thought on this rainy Wednesday afternoon.
