Shimano is a world-renowned brand not only in the bicycle industry but also in the fishing world. Utilizing the high-level cooler box technology they have honed in the fishing field, they created the ICEBOX series, a cooler box prized for people's lifestyles and a variety of outdoor activities beyond just cycling and fishing. Following the popularity of these models since they arrived last year, a newly upgraded version, VACILAND, has arrived! When you stack all four models, they’re taller than me at 163cm...
High-density design to keep cold air from escaping
The biggest difference from the ICEBOX is that the lid has improved airtightness, resulting in even higher cooling performance.
They increased the compression of the lid seal to improve airtightness, but since this also increases the load when opening and closing, they improved the leverage of the handle and made the structure even sturdier so it can be opened and closed smoothly without needing much force. You’ll notice it as soon as you pick one up—despite the substantial, heavy-duty build of the lid, the lever operates very smoothly.
Of course, just like the ICEBOX, it can be opened from either side, and by operating the levers simultaneously, you can remove the lid entirely.
Available in two sizes: 40L / 32L. PET bottles can stand upright.
The VACILAND series is built one size larger than the ICEBOX. It comes in two sizes: 40L and 32L.
The 40L model allows you to store 2L PET bottles upright, while the 32L model fits 1L bottles vertically. The bottom is also designed to accommodate two standard ice packs. It’s not just a simple increase in capacity compared to the ICEBOX; the carefully thought-out interior dimensions expand the possibilities for how you can use it.
Like the ICEBOX, the colors correspond to the grade.
The lineup is categorized by cooling performance: PRO / EL / ST / VL, from top to bottom. Just like the ICEBOX, having different colors for each grade makes it a tough choice, but being able to identify the grade at a glance is similar to bicycle components, isn't it? If someone else in the field has a VACILAND in a different color, don't worry about any hierarchy—rest assured that you still have a fantastic cooler box!
VACILAND – A journey that values the experience more than the destination
By the way, the product name "VACILAND" comes from the Spanish-influenced idea of "a journey that prioritizes the experience over the destination."
Well-laid travel plans aren't always great for unexpected adventures, are they? Put down the maps and plans, embrace your freedom, and head where your heart leads you. The naming of VACILAND embodies this philosophy, which is a bit like life itself.
It's great for when you head out on a ride by car, as well as for BikeToFishing or family camping trips. When you pack your imagined adventures inside, and bring this cooler box along, you're bound to have a great time.
As the temperature rises, so will the temperature inside your car. It’s the perfect season to enjoy a crisp, ice-cold drink after an activity, so please head out with a VACILAND.

The existing ICEBOX series is also stocked with all models ahead of the season. If you don't need the size of the VACILAND, these are recommended. I hope you find the article from last autumn about my kayaking trip helpful as well.
