Cross Check reborn with a fresh coat of paint!!

As Tomoyan posted the other day, we are officially accepting requests for overhauls. We are truly grateful to have a variety of bikes coming into the pit for overhauls every week. It’s a real pleasure for us mechanics. We’ll take great care of your beloved bike, so please feel free to consult with us.

With that in mind, I’d like to introduce a bike that was reborn through a repaint during its overhaul.

This is a Surly Cross-Check. It had been used heavily for commuting for a little over two years, and when it came time for an overhaul, we decided to go all-in and give it a repaint. If you only want a repaint, there is a reassembly fee after the paint job is finished (starting from 10,000 yen, depending on the bike model), but by paying a small surcharge and requesting it alongside an overhaul (starting from 16,000 yen), you can kill two birds with one stone. We take care of everything thoroughly, from rust-proofing the inside of the frame to cleaning and greasing the parts.

And thanks to the repaint by Kyutai Paint, the impression has changed so drastically that you can barely recognize the original gloss black finish. The stem is match-painted to the frame and fork, and the rear triangle is finished in black to match the SimWorks On The Road rack.

For those who ride hard even on rainy days or days like yesterday when it snowed, water can easily get inside the frame and accelerate rust. It’s best to give your bike a proper maintenance check at least once every year to a year and a half. Please come and talk to us about it!
