Getting somewhere fast isn't the only reason to ride a bike.
Taking the long way round on a familiar road, or wandering into an alley that catches your eye. Stopping to watch a wild bird you don't usually see, or getting into a staring contest with a stray cat…
That feeling from childhood, of riding your bike around with no particular purpose.
The bike that brings back that primal fun of cycling is the WILDE Moto-Cruiser.

WILDE BICYCLE Moto-Cruiser
The Moto-Cruiser: "a bike that's just plain fun," made real

The 26-inch rim-brake bikes of years past, which WILDE's Jeff himself loves.
Taking inspiration from MTBs, he reinterpreted in his own way something that is being lost today, and the result is this Moto-Cruiser.
We usually build bikes up with an understated look, but this time the order was left to us with "red, yellow and silver" as the main colors, so we built it to put the "fun" side of the Moto-Cruiser front and center.
Wheels that are a touch small by today's standards, on a classic frame with a loop tail. And handlebars set way up high.
Its instantly recognizable stance has a rugged appeal that echoes the mountain bikes of old and motorcycle culture as well.

Reinterpreting something that is being lost today
What makes the Moto-Cruiser interesting is not simply that it brings a nostalgic bike back to life in the present day.
Behind it are WILDE's Jeff's attachment to the mountain bikes he has ridden for years and his respect for early MTB culture, and on top of that it packs in touches suited to how we ride now, such as modern geometry and dropper seatpost compatibility.

Cruise breezily around town, or head out to play on your local trails! Build it simple as a single speed, or fit gears and make it practical. Either works.
Fit a hub dynamo with front and rear dynamo lights, as on this bike, and you can ride without worrying about charging your lights, making it an ideal bike for everyday use.

A bike that brings back the first thrill of cycling
Because it uses long-loved standards such as rim brakes and 26-inch wheels, there's also the fun of building up a bike that's truly your own, making use of parts you already have or second-hand parts.
The appeal of a bicycle that can't be measured by speed, efficiency or spec numbers alone.
Just riding it lifts your mood a little, and the usual scenery looks different. You slip into a feeling that you, nature and the world are all connected. The Moto-Cruiser may just be the bike for tasting that joy of cycling straight up.

It's fine to have days when you set off without deciding where you're going.
You find yourself wanting to ride even when you have no errand to run.
If that's the kind of bike you're looking for, this is a model we especially want you to take a look at.
Maybe now is the time to open that precious box you tucked away deep in your heart and forgot.
