At Circles, we carry various durable and cost-effective aluminum rims for 700C and 650B setups, including brands like VELOCITY and H PLUS SON. We are excited to introduce PACENTI as the newest addition to our lineup.
They produce wheels that serve you well for daily commuting, weekend dirt rides, and even racing.
We’ve already been receiving a steady stream of orders, so I’ll be introducing them while showcasing some of the wheels we've built up!
About the Pacenti Brand
Pacenti Cycle Design was established in 2001 by Kirk Pacenti, a frame builder and bike designer who also created the world's first 27.5-inch mountain bike wheel size.

Kirk wasn't satisfied with the handling of 29-inch wheels in tight corners (especially at high speeds), and he faced significant design hurdles in trying to build a full-suspension bike with 80mm or more of travel around 29-inch wheels. His idea of a middle ground between 26 and 29 inches was shocking at the time. Kirk worked tirelessly to involve bike, tire, and rim manufacturers to promote the 27.5-inch wheel. The sheer number of 27.5-inch MTBs on the market today is a testament to his success.
Although Kirk has since moved on to new challenges, the brand remains true to its original philosophy under new leadership. They pride themselves on being a company for cyclists, not just a bike or parts company, and they continue to create new things for the ultimate ride.
The Brevet rim, which I’ll introduce right away, was inspired by the needs and standards they discovered while riding themselves.
The Neo-Classic Brevet Rim
【PACENTI】
Brevet Rim
650b / 32h, 700c / 28h, 700c / 32h, 700c / 36h
¥12,980 (tax included)
The Brevet is a rim-brake compatible rim characterized by its box shape, which gives it a classic look. I love the playful touch of the logo, which is a nod to the old MAVIC logo—or is it Marseilles butter soap?
Despite their classic appearance, which might look a bit heavy, they are surprisingly light at 435g for 650b and 450g for 700c.
They are even lighter than the rim-brake version of the Forza (introduced next) and are tubeless-ready, making them even lighter if you set them up tubeless.
With a great balance of strength and weight and options in both 650b and 700c, they cater to a wide range of riding styles from gravel and touring to, of course, brevets.
The Versatile Forza Rim: From On-Road to Gravel
【PACENTI】
Forza Rim Asymmetrical Disc
650b / 28h, 650b / 32h, 700c / 28h, 700c / 32h
¥14,080 (tax included)
Next is the Forza, which catches the eye with its racey decals. While a rim-brake version exists, we at Circles have chosen the disc brake model.
It features an asymmetrical rim profile with offset spoke holes. This allows you to optimize the offset for the front or rear, increasing spoke tension for a stronger, more durable wheel build. It’s an all-around model that can handle everything from adventure rides to racing. Of course, it is also tubeless-ready.
Hubs to Match These Excellent Rims
We have also received a small stock of hubs.
ROAD HUB
【PACENTI 】
ROAD HUB
Front: 32h - ¥9,680 (tax included)
Rear: 32h - ¥19,580 (tax included)
These rim-brake road hubs weigh just 282g for the set. This allows you to build a lightweight wheel even with aluminum rims. They pair well with the Brevet rim, and it’s worth noting that silver hubs are becoming increasingly rare these days.
Road/Gravel Hub CL Disc
【PACENTI 】
Road/Gravel Hub CL Disc
Front: 28h, 32h - ¥10,780 (tax included)
Rear: 28h, 32h - ¥19,580 (tax included)
This is the center-lock disc hub, which we recommend pairing with the Forza Rim. We stock the 12mm thru-axle model, but we can also order conversion parts for QR if you need them!
Give Custom Wheel Building a Try!
Pacenti rims are perfect for those who want to take their riding a step further and enjoy a different style. Since they are also relatively cost-effective, they are a great choice if you’re looking to upgrade the wheels on your current bike or are considering your first custom wheel build. We also welcome anyone who wants to use this as an opportunity to try out tubeless tires. They pair perfectly with SimWorks / Volummy, WTB, or TERAVAIL tires.
We are happy to provide consultations in-store or online, so please let us know how you want to ride.
