As "Daylight Saving Time" ends and the holiday season approaches, the Pacific Northwest—where SimWorks USA is based—turns into the coolest and most contemplative time of the year.
With this season being perfect for tinkering with your bike or planning a new build, we’ve added three new colors to the Nissen cable housing lineup. Blue Steel, Electric Blue, and Salmon are colors that continue to provide the durability and satisfying feel that riders have relied on for years as the critical interface between their hands, drivetrain, and braking systems.
These cool new shades are sure to add a touch of color to your bike.

SimWorks by Nissen Stainless Outer Cable
New Color: Salmon / Blue Steel / Electric Blue
Price: ¥2,860 (Brake) ¥3,190 (Shift)
We’ve replaced the coil wire in these outer cables—typically made of steel—with stainless steel. They are rust-resistant and feature a clear, transparent finish.
Naturally, they include a polyethylene inner liner, ensuring a light and smooth lever pull.
Also, considering the recent rise in disc brake bikes, diverse cable routing, and the use of full-length housing, these SimWorks-branded versions come in 3-meter lengths. While standard cables are usually 2 meters, this length practically eliminates any chance of running short.
How about some brass accents?

Why not pair your new outer cables with some brass ferrules?
These brass ferrules from Nissen Cable are CNC-machined. The benefit of CNC production is, above all, precision. By fitting perfectly onto the cable housing, they improve the feel of your shifting, and the smooth, machined internal hole keeps friction against the inner wire to an absolute minimum.
With their reliable strength, you don't have to worry about them cracking like plastic caps, and you can enjoy the unique way the brass patinas over time. Using them with any SIMWORKS BY NISSEN outer cable provides both functional and aesthetic benefits.
Oh, and if you're a brass fanatic, be sure to check this out here as well.
