[TWIN SIX] A reliable ally for summer rides.

With my beard and, perhaps due to my skin tone or facial features, people often tell me I look Southeast Asian. Whenever I mention I’m going to Thailand on a trip, they even ask if I’m going back to my hometown.

Because of my looks, people often assume I must be good with the hot summer weather, but that’s actually not the case.
Of course, I don’t dislike it in spirit; I could even say I like it.

However, it is a fact that I struggle with summer, as my skin isn't very resilient. Anyone who has ridden with me in the summer might know that I always fold up the hems of my bib shorts. I tend to get heat rash where the silicone grippers are, as sweat accumulates there. In bad cases, even if I fold them up to keep them from touching my skin, I still get the same reaction. Because of this, when I’m wearing them for a long time, I constantly fold and unfold them, and during breaks, I wipe away the sweat with a wet towel. It’s an essential routine; if I neglect it, I end up having a miserable time later.

When I share this story at the shop, it turns out quite a few others have the same trouble, and that’s when I recommend the bib shorts I’m introducing today.

Hailing from Minnesota, USA, TWIN SIX delights us every season with their various graphics. Rather than for rides focused on winning races or achieving team goals, these are jerseys you can throw on without hesitation to simply enjoy riding a bike while feeling the scenery, the breeze, and the changing seasons on your skin. They offer a lineup of bib shorts that can be worn as a set, but they also offer plain black bib shorts that help those graphics stand out.

The Standard Bib Short, in particular, does not use silicone grippers at the hem, but instead uses highly elastic material to finish the leg openings. This makes it a very reliable piece of gear for someone like me who struggles with skin irritation.

The pad is neither too thin nor too thick, making it a basic piece that's easy to use for a variety of rides. With thoughtful details like minimal seams to prevent discomfort and highly breathable material used for the suspender section, I believe this is an exceptionally high-quality bib short for under 20,000 yen.

This is an item I highly recommend for those looking for their first pair of bib shorts, and they pair perfectly with Twin Six’s unique lineup of printed jerseys. During our WEBSHOP SUMMER SALE, running from the 11th through the 19th, you can get Twin Six items at 30% off, so don't miss out before sizes run out!
