They naturally wear down as you ride. Because they are the most consumable part of a bicycle, they are easy to swap out, and changing their size or pattern can significantly affect the quality of your ride: we are talking about tires. Why not try a different size? You could even be bold and try a different tread pattern. Changing the color also completely transforms the look of your bike.
Tires are consumables meant to be used, which is exactly why there’s so much depth to them. Many of you are likely preparing for spring, but we’ve just received some tires from WTB that are actually perfect for enjoying this winter, too.
Coming from California, WTB is known for patterns that excel on dirt. Today, we’d like to introduce two tires with the Tan Wall name that will completely change your bike’s aesthetic!

The NANO was originally created for the "Tour Divide," a race that crosses the American continent. This model has been adapted to 700x40c to suit modern bike packing and gravel riding. The center of the tread rolls without resistance on pavement, allowing for surprisingly speedy rides on tarmac despite its rugged appearance. Furthermore, thanks to its 40c volume, it becomes a high-performance tire that grips well on rough terrain when run at lower pressures. The long-awaited Tan Wall color is now available, making this a tire you can enjoy for everything from commuting to the mountains to challenging the unpaved roads beyond.
SimWorks’ Monja has equipped them on his fixed-gear “Ryuten-go” (CX bike). He’ll be racing C4 at Aichi Bokujo tomorrow and the day after with this setup. While higher categories may have tire size restrictions, these are more than enough to have a great time on a dry course.
The other new addition to the lineup is the Resolute. This is an all-weather tire designed for an even wider range of riding conditions.
The effectively spaced square knobs provide solid grip even on muddy dirt without having to worry about the weather, and the 42mm size—which WTB concluded is the optimal size for gravel riding—delivers versatile performance across various terrains and surfaces. It’s available in both 650B and 700C, so choose the one that fits your bike.
Kamo-chan from Culture Club seems to have enjoyed touring in Hokkaido, where there was plenty of snow, by equipping his Velo Orange Pass Hunter Disc with the 650B version.
The two tires introduced here are not only available in Tan Wall, but are also compatible with TCS Tubeless systems. We also stock tubeless valves, so please consider making the switch to tubeless!
As mentioned previously, there’s a jam-packed weekend ahead: TeamBlueLug will be facing off against us at tomorrow’s NEW YEAR’S ALLEY CAT, and there might be a fierce battle at Sunday’s BIKE TO TOKAI CX!
