Retrotec.

It’s been a week since our website redesign. How is everyone liking it?
You can now see a live view of our workshop, so knowing that you’re all watching makes it hard to slack off! (laughs) Also, be sure to check out each staff member’s profile page, where we’ve listed our individual bike specs.
Today, I’d like to introduce a bike we delivered recently.

Retrotec.

These bikes are built in Napa, Northern California, by a big guy named Curtis Inglis.
Contrary to their striking, signature curved top tubes, his bikes are incredibly comfortable to ride, with proven smoothness in acceleration and handling.
Coupled with his wonderful personality and sensibility, many Northern Californians make the trip to visit his workshop.

We have just completed a custom-ordered build from Retrotec.

image1If you noticed something in these two photos, you’ve got a sharp eye. A couple of things that should be there are missing, aren't they?

IMG_3643Missing thing #1: The rear brake. We installed a mount on the chainstay. This cleans up the rear end and makes the beauty of the curved top tube stand out even more.

IMG_0916Missing thing #2: The electronic battery. As Shimano has recently announced, we used a Calfee system, a pioneer in seatpost-integrated batteries. All the wiring is tucked neatly inside the tubes.

IMG_1379As for the stem, if I may say so myself, we painted a Thomson white, courtesy of Kyutai Paint.
By the way, we chose Panaracer’s Race typeD Evo2 tires.

While the curved top tube does add some weight to the frame, his bikes continue to captivate cyclists who have their own strong values and don't worry about such things. And above all, it’s a bike that just feels so right when you ride it.

The owner is Mr. Suzuki, who came all the way from Tokyo to place this order. He is a fantastic cyclist.
On the day he picked it up, he was dressed casually, effortlessly wearing swrve pants and Giro Gauge MTB shoes.
Ride it hard!
