フットサルまで自転車で行こう!!!

Good evening. It’s Keita.

It’s been cold lately. Especially during my morning commute (around 5 a.m.), it's freezing. Even so, I’m the type of person who can’t just sit still at home; if there’s something fun to do, I’m eager to get out and go play.

This marks our seventh session of futsal, which I started back in the summer of last year. It’s no exaggeration to say I used to pour my life into soccer. I’m definitely slower than I used to be, but my passion for the game remains the same. If anything, I might be even more excited than back then. Since cycling is the best way to get around in our neck of the woods here in Nagoya, the first thing I think of whenever I go anywhere is to hop on my bike!

So, riding my bike to futsal is my standard style. I thought it was interesting that everyone has their own unique style in both their daily bikes and their athletic wear, so I decided to take some snaps this time.

This time, a crack squad of 15 people gathered. With this many people, it gets incredibly lively.

First, here’s me. I use my daily commuter bike, a Hunter Cycles cross bike, and for futsal, I wear Patagonia innerwear with running shorts. My Nike futsal shoes are pretty flashy.

Nobu-kun showed up in his Deeper’s Wear from head to toe, riding a track bike. Thanks for being the timekeeper again this time!

Masa-kun, who is a manipulative therapist, arrived on his Giant Great Journey. He packed his change of clothes and other gear into a RawLow Mountain Works BIKE’N HIKE BAG.

Kato-kun and Tomoda-san showed up on single speeds. Single speeds feel great for riding around the city, don't they?

Circles’ resident ex-delinquent Shige rolled through the city streets on his Hunter Cycles bike. His athletic mesh jersey is sharp.

Company employee Kei-kun arrived on his Surly Cross-Check. It felt like he just threw on an outer layer over his futsal gear to head home. He’s always so stylish. I wish I were tall, too. Haha.

Taka from Circles showed up on his Vicious Cycles track bike. Wearing Deeper’s Fast Pass Baker pants makes riding a bike completely stress-free. And above all, that original Arriba hoodie is great.

Our guardian deity, Jas, attached a RAL Front Loader to his everyday Salsa bike to stash his small items. By the way, we are also running a campaign where you get a free pair of socks when you buy over 5,000 yen of RAL products. This was his first time joining us, and his goaltending was seriously so good it was jaw-dropping. Next time, I want to score on him. A Hanazono rugby player really is on another level.

Ando-san, who joined us for the first time, arrived on a track bike. I was so happy to have someone join us with such a laid-back vibe. His play was super sharp, too.

Sho-kun, who is easily one of the best players in the Circles Futsal Club, showed up riding his Surly Cross-Check in his trusty Umbro gear. He’s so good that I can never steal the ball from him.

Everyone brings their own unique style to our BIKE TO FUTSAL sessions. It was such a heated battle that it blew the February cold away.

I’m already looking forward to March. I want to practice more and get better.

The next session is scheduled for Wednesday, March 8th, from 9:00 p.m.
Anyone can join, so if you’re interested, please feel free to ask the staff.

See you!
