自転車での別の旅の形

PAPERSKY is a travel lifestyle magazine based in Japan with the concept of an "inflight magazine to read on the ground." It focuses on people and the places they inhabit, introducing the nature, culture, and lifestyles of various countries and cities, as well as the beauty of Japan as seen from both the "inside" and "outside," while sharing stories that enrich the journey.

The latest issue of PaperSky has arrived. This edition focuses on Kyoto and Bicycles, featuring a rich array of content including a six-day bikepacking trip from Kyoto city, over the mountains, and toward the sea in Tango, undertaken by Editor-in-Chief Lucas B.B. and Takashi Chiyoda of Moon Ride Gear. It also introduces cyclists who are building an ideal relationship between city living in Kyoto and their bikes. There is also a brief mention of Oyatsu-chan's journey around Japan.

Kyoto was the destination of my very first bicycle trip. Whether you visit a destination by loading your bike into a car or by taking your bike on a train (rinko), it’s a wonderful experience. Having a bicycle allows you to reach a wider world than you could on foot, helping you understand a town more deeply; there are discoveries in bicycle travel that you would surely overlook by car.

PaperSky has a mysterious power; after reading it, you’ll find yourself thinking about which town you should travel to by bike next. I hope you’ll all give it a read.

Also, as we introduced when Lucas visited us previously, the Bike’n Hike Bag from RawLow Mountain Works, which features a clever design that transforms a saddlebag into a backpack, is an incredibly convenient item for such journeys. Many of you have been looking forward to this, and it has finally arrived.
