Just when you thought the spring weather would last a little longer, daytime temperatures have soared toward 30 degrees Celsius, and our pit crew has finally started breaking out their short sleeves.
The arrival of the legendary Circles giant fans might still be a little way off, but the excitement of Golden Week has finally settled down, so it’s time to take a breather.
With that said, we’ve been busy setting up our own legendary custom wheels: GORILLA SPUN .
Our first Gorilla Spun News of the new Reiwa era introduces two stock wheels born from our hot—or should we say steamy?—pit.
The first is an all-arounder wheel that you can use for racing, training, and even cyclocross, plus it’s tubeless-ready.

DT SWISS RR411 & SHIMANO 105 R7000

This build combines the 11-speed compatible Shimano 105 (R7000 series), which is arguably the gold standard for rim brake hubs, with the RR411, a new rim from DT Swiss, a manufacturer that produces every single component related to wheels.
The RR411 is a model that has slightly widened from 21mm to 22mm compared to DT Swiss's bestseller, the RR440, making it a perfect match for tires around 25mm wide, which are the mainstream in today’s road bike scene.
DT Swiss also frequently features an asymmetrical (offset) rim for the rear, and the RR411 is no exception. This design reduces the difference in spoke tension between the left and right sides caused by the rear hub "dish" (the offset between the center of the O.L.D. and the center of the hub flanges), resulting in a more balanced, well-finished wheel.
The second wheel is one that fulfills the joy of exploring unknown roads.

H PLUS SON Hydra & SHIMANO RS505

This setup combines the rugged and reliable RS505 disc brake hub, which is in the same grade as the Shimano 105 mentioned earlier, with the Hydra, a wide and tough rim from H PLUS SON, a manufacturer known for their balance of strength and precision.
The Hydra has a rim width of 25mm, which pairs perfectly with slightly wider tires around 40mm used for cyclocross and gravel road riding, and the 700c wheel size provides excellent all-terrain capability.
It is also tubeless-compatible, so it is fully prepared to support your more adventurous rides.
