TOMII CYCLES is a custom frame builder based in Austin, Texas. The builder, Nao Tomii, has a unique background: he moved to the U.S. to study fine art, worked in sculpture and three-dimensional modeling in Boston, Massachusetts, and eventually began building frames.

The bicycles he creates possess a delicate, nostalgic atmosphere reminiscent of Native American jewelry, yet they are fused with a cutting-edge aesthetic. Born from a motto of building bikes that are fun to ride, his creations radiate a one-of-a-kind presence.

In recent years, he has been focusing his efforts not only on custom frames but also on producing beautiful parts such as brass top caps, spacers, and bells.

These brass spacers are also individually hand-engraved by Nao, meaning no two are exactly alike.

Each part is finished with a chemical patina and a coat of wax, allowing you to enjoy the way the brass ages over time.

*A note from Nao regarding care

Regarding maintenance of the brass parts: all items are finished with a patina (a chemical color treatment) and then waxed. (I avoid using lacquer or clear coats because they ruin the texture.)

Because of this, the color will change over time (and can even be affected by the oils from your skin); that is part of the charm of brass. However, by periodically applying wax (especially after handling them) or wiping them down with a soft cloth, you can help preserve the original patina for longer. (Think of it like jewelry care.) You can use any type of wax, whether for cars or hardwood floors; anything will work.
