Description
Pay attention to the very fingertips that press the shutter button.
There are plenty of people who love not just bicycles, but cameras too . FromTHE RADAVIST — a brand that surely resonates with many such enthusiasts —comes a collaboration that’s quintessentially them withYellow Bird Thread Works,a Connecticut-based maker of brass bike parts and more.
TheSoft Shutter Talisman is a small soft release that attaches to a camera’s shutter button.
“The ones on the market are either too big in diameter, or the materials and screw finishes aren’t quite right.” Driven by these minor frustrations, THE RADAVIST decided to create exactly what they wanted from scratch—and this is the result.
Made of brass, it’s compact, with a diameter of about 10 mm. Yellow Bird Thread Works analyzed the JIS-standard screws specific to cameras and even deburred them during the machining process, ensuring a meticulous finish down to the finest details.
The surface features THE RADAVIST’s rune logo laser-engraved. One of the joys of this small part is watching the brass’s appearance change over time as it’s used, influenced by the oils from your fingers and the passage of time.
While it’s a tool designed to make pressing the shutter easier, the fact that THE RADAVIST and Yellow Bird have gone to such lengths to perfect it speaks volumes.
Just as you might choose a top cap or valve cap for your bicycle, why not treat the camera you handle every day to a thoughtful little accessory?
Photography is about skill, technique, and—just a little bit of luck.
So why not attach a good-luck charm?
