Japan has long been known as the “Land of the Rising Sun.” The beautiful dawn sky, which appears only at the boundary between night and morning, evokes a sense of quiet anticipation and a feeling of lightness deep within the heart as the sky slowly turns vermilion.

We’ve named this special color, which captures the hues visible only during that fleeting moment, the “Sunrise Collection.” How you choose to express the special feelings you’ve felt while gazing at the sunrise—and what thoughts you choose to imbue it with—is entirely up to you.

The Taquito Pedal is a slightly smaller version of the Taco Pedal, which features a large platform.

Compared to its bigger brother, the Taco Pedal, the front-to-back width of the tread surface is 5 mm shorter on each side. While a total reduction of 10 mm may seem small, it significantly changes the sensation transmitted from the sole of your shoe while pedaling. The smaller size makes it less likely to hit tree roots or loose rocks, and it’s a perfect match for bikes with a low bottom bracket.

“Taquito,” which means “little tacos” in Spanish, is the name of a Mexican dish consisting of tortillas filled with ingredients and fried until crispy. Even though it’s compact, it still makes a strong impression—thanks to the side plates inherited from the Taco Pedal, which provide robust support.

The high-polish cup-and-cone bearings are individually hand-adjusted for precise ball-to-seat clearance by skilled craftsmen at Mikashima Seisakusho. Even if rain or dust causes the rotation to become sluggish, you can use the MKS-specific cap spanner to disassemble and clean the bearings, as well as adjust the ball-to-seat clearance and grease volume. Products that allow for adjustments and maintenance tailored to the user—rather than being disposable—foster a sense of attachment, enabling you to use them for many years to come.

*Due to the tight clearance between the side plate and the pedal spindle, we recommend using a 6mm Allen wrench for installation.
*MKS products are factory-set so that the balls fit slightly tightly to extend the time between readjustments. This fit is called “preload.” After using the product for a while and allowing for the initial “break-in” period, it will begin to rotate smoothly.
