Valuable Shimano headsets from the 1970s and 1980s
The SHIMANO 600 series was developed in the 1970s and 1980s by Japan's world-renowned SHIMANO. Among them, we now have a dead stock SHIMANO 600 EX series headset that was released in 1978 and developed as a component to match European handmade frames. The unique design of this seriesis characterized by its arabesque (arabesque pattern) design.
In this period, the foundation for many of the manufacturing technologies that we now take for granted was laid, and in addition to forging and press work, this headset was created using techniques that Shimano excelled at from that time, from surface polishing to anodizing, optimizing resin plating, and intentionally creating uneven surfaces.
Of course, the cup-and-cone system, a Shimano specialty, is used to prevent rattling and ensure comfortable handling by adjusting the headset in the unlikely event of a rattling problem.
The lock nut, known as a flower-shaped nut, was available as a special tool at the time, but is no longer available as it has been discontinued. Although it is not impossible to substitute a common head-on spanner 32mm, please understand that this shape only recommends the use of a dedicated tool.

- After receiving your order, we will do a final check and ship complete bikes, but it may take 1-2 weeks. Please understand.
- We will send the bike with some parts removed for packing. We strongly recommend that you have your bicycle assembled at your nearest bicycle store.

Regarding the delivery of frame sets
- Nationwide flat-rate shipping: 5,500 yen (tax included) (However, an additional fee will be charged for delivery to Okinawa and remote islands.)
