The history of RITCHEY / RITCHEY began when founder Tom Ritchie created a lightweight bicycle without sacrificing strength in his garage as a high school student.

Since then, RITCHEY has devoted its energies to other endeavors besides frame building, such as creating bicycle components and leading the early days of MTB. However, the Ritchie spirit of making functional, lightweight, and reliable products has been passed down from its origins in frame making, and the company is actively supplying top UCI pros, including Cadel Evans, who won the World Championships in 2009 using Ritchie components.

The Streem Saddle was created to provide both comfort and performance, and while the design of the WCS remains unchanged, the Comp Series, which is more affordable, uses the same Vector Wing technology as the higher ranks to distribute the load from the saddle to the buttocks.
