What's MIPS?

MIPS stands for Multi-directional Impact Protection System, designed to provide increased protection to the brain against rotational motion transmitted to the head from various angles. Rotational motion is a combination of rotational energy (angular velocity) and rotational force from angular acceleration that affects the brain and increases the risk of mild and severe brain injury. The MIPS protection system has been proven to diffuse the energy and force transmitted to the brain, thereby reducing rotational motion.

High-impact ABS plastic outer shell.
The inner shell made of expanded polystyrene (EPS) protects the head from strong impacts.
FidlockÂ®, a magnetic buckle that can be easily operated with one hand and does not pinch the skin.
Two front vents, seven top vents, and two rear vents prevent head vapor.
Shock-absorbing zones are used on the outside of the EPS to effectively absorb energy in the event of a collision. The shock-absorbing band effectively absorbs energy in the event of a crash and protects the head.
Adjustable spin dial for easy and comfortable fit.
Removable visor keeps the sun and rain out.
Cushioned padding around the chin area of the strap.
An inner pad set is included for optimal fit.
Grooves on the inside of the EPS inner shell allow for better airflow.
Reflective material is used on the front and rear NUTCASE logo areas. The NUTCASE logo is easily visible from all angles.
