The House of Looptails™ in the U.S. has officially partnered with Panaracer, the manufacturer of the original, to update the original design concept with modern technology to create a "true reissue" of the original.
Ultimate "Reproduction" and "Quality" beyond the original
To revive this iconic design, which was created in 1979 and is considered the world's first MTB-specific tire, the original molds from that time have been thoroughly researched to create a new tread pattern, and the technology used in today's high-end tires is applied without hesitation.

The 1/8" Difference in Tire Size
The "2.125" in tire size: In the 80s and 90s, it was common for the original tires to be much narrower in actual size than the nominal size.
During the design process, we thoroughly examined the interrelationships among the height, width, and cross-sectional shape of the original casing. While maintaining compatibility with the bikes of the time, the volume was slightly increased from the original 1.88 inches to 2.00 inches in actual size.
This fine-tuning increased the air volume by approximately 10%, giving the vintage bike the best looks and cushioning to withstand modern road conditions.
