[MECHANIC'S COMMENT]

The standard AT-25 rim from H PLUS SON, a brand known to every fixed-gear rider, is a rim with just the right width—catchy, sturdy, and easy to use with modern tires. These rims have been paired with small-flange hubs from CYCROC, which offer a great total balance of rotation, weight, and design at a reasonable price.

If you’re looking for a custom track bike wheelset using the wide H PLUS SON AT-25 rim, this is the one to start with! We want you to throw on some WTB Thick Slick tires and tear up the city streets. Compatible tire size is 25-35c.

What are wheels to a bicycle? They are essential components for movement, and as the saying goes, "style starts at your feet," they also have a massive impact on the look of the bike. Wheels are truly vital parts. This time, I’m not talking about performance—I’m talking about how they are built.

In the world of bicycle wheels, there are two types: "factory-built" and "hand-built."

"Factory-built" refers to wheels that are shipped by the manufacturer as completed units; ideally, there is very little for us shop mechanics to adjust (though minor adjustments are often needed, and some wheels simply require a lot of work to be rideable). Due to their nature, they are often adjusted for a non-specific demographic or for professional/semi-professional use, rather than being tailored to an individual rider.

That is where "hand-built" wheels, which Circles specializes in, come in.

The advantage of "hand-building" is, quite literally, that we choose every component that makes up the wheel, and we mechanics assemble them to create a set of wheels that fits the user perfectly.
