FRAME CYCLES, a Scottish manufacturer of quality components and accessories, has nominated the FR-1 for a Green Product Award in 2024 for its plastic-free saddle.
The FR-1 is a plastic-free saddle made with a molded cork seat and a grade 5 titanium base, which eliminates the need for the use of polymer materials found in many modern saddles by utilizing the natural properties of cork, such as lightness, durability, cushioning, elasticity, and water resistance. This is a revolutionary saddle made with the approach of eliminating the need to use polymer materials, which are often used in modern saddles.
The saddle has a unique and distinctive design, combining the organic look of cork with the ruggedness of titanium for the base and rail. Because of its weather resistance, it can be used for various purposes as well as daily use.
Cork comes from the bark of the cork oak tree, a member of the beech family Quercus, which is stripped of its bark every nine years. supporting a diverse animal ecosystem.
About cork acclimation
Initially, the cork is as hard as a new leather saddle, but after a break-in period, depending on the rider's average position and contact points, the cork takes on a unique softness.
About durability
Because cork is a natural material, its appearance will gradually change over time. Some of the changes you may notice include
1. frequent use in wet or muddy conditions may cause the saddle to turn black. This can be cleaned by wiping the saddle with flooring cleaner. 2.
2. with regular use, the ground color of the cork will gradually fade. This is due to exposure to sunlight and affects all wooden products when used outdoors. The performance of the saddle is not affected.

- 梱包の都合上、いくつかのパーツを外した状態でお送り致します。最寄りの自転車店様にて組み付け作業をご依頼することを強くお勧めいたします。
