If they can’t find what they want, they make it themselves. We asked this team—who cherish the MYOG spirit—to create a special waist bag to commemorate Circles’ 20th anniversary.

It’s called the Fannie Mae.

Originally sold by JMW exclusively at events, the bag has undergone gradual improvements in fabric and design. Despite its compact size, it easily holds essentials for on-the-go use, such as a wallet, smartphone, and keys.

For this custom order, we’ve used a packcloth fabric with a nostalgic feel. Available in three colors—Red, Green, and Black—each features a large reflective strip and a Circles 20th Anniversary co-branded patch. The Red version even includes a yellow reflective strip—a clever little touch.

The side facing your body features a slim pocket and a keyring, and the design is thoughtfully crafted so you can neatly tuck away any excess strap.

Incidentally, the name “Fannie Mae” comes from the song of the same name by blues musician Buster Brown. The fact that music and culture find their way into even the name of a piece of gear is so typical of JMW.
