Description
You want to give your traditional chromoly road bike or street riding pisto bike a smart and classic cockpit. The DIA-COMPE "BL08 Gran Compe" drop handlebar brake lever is a perfect match for such cyclists.
The most distinctive feature of the "Gran Compe" series, the brand's high-end line, is its slim and beautiful die-cast aluminum body that has been stripped down to the bare essentials.
While having a graceful silhouette like vintage levers of yesteryear, it features an "aero type (inner routing)" construction that allows the brake wires to be neatly accommodated in the bar tape along the handlebars. This eliminates wires sticking out from around the handlebars and creates a very clean front face, which is also common in the current Asian-American commuter style.
The lever pulls with a light click and is exquisitely curved to make it easy even for small hands. The bracket hood (rubber cover) is also molded to be easy to grip and clean, supporting stress-free handling from daily city cruises to long rides.
This is a long-selling lever with the aesthetics of a Japanese brand, and is a perfect match not only for single speed (pisto) drop handlebar customization, but also for a neo-retro bike with a vintage frame rebuilt with modern parts.
