Hello! It’s Shibuya.
OMM feels like a long time ago. Perhaps it’s because of the pleasant location of Hakuba, or because OMM was a getaway from the everyday routine.
Also playing a major role at that OMM were "BEDROCK SANDALS."
These sandals often appear in Circles' posts.
Naturally, our staff loves them, and this time we're going to cover why they chose their respective models!
We hope these firsthand accounts from our staff will help you in choosing your own pair of BEDROCKs!
Eri / Cairn Evo Sandals / Moss

Reason for choosing: "It’s the most lightweight model in the BEDROCK lineup, and I chose the EVO over the EVO PRO because the Vibram sole is black! Plus, the EVO has Velcro, making it easy to adjust while wearing!"
Eri, in charge of the Circles WebShop and photography.
She mentioned weight, sole color (type), and heel adjustment features. In fact, these three points are key when comparing various BEDROCK models!
As you can see from the model comparison table below, the "Outsole," "Footbed," and "Heel Strap" differ depending on the model.

I wear the EVO 3D PRO, which features a gray outsole, 3D-shaped footbed, and a hook-style heel strap.
In other words, I made the exact opposite choice for the reasons Eri picked the EVO. Why did I choose the EVO 3D PRO? Find out at the very end!
With this reference table in mind, let's continue!
Go / Cairn Evo Sandals / Moss

Reason for choosing: "I love fixed-gear bikes, so I don't demand too much functionality from things. I chose this model because it's the most solid choice for a style where I adapt to the gear myself."
Go, who shoots photos and videos for Circles.
It's cool how he channels his own philosophy and style into his sandals.
The EVO is lightweight and looks stylish, which is great.
Also, the EVO PRO, which uses a Vibram MEGAGRIP outsole, offers peace of mind even on wet surfaces.
With this style of pairing RAL/Tabby Socks with BEDROCKs, Go, who skids (and with toe clips at that!), might be a true BEDROCKER.
Shige / Cairn Evo C Sandals / Clay

Reason for choosing: "I’ve been using the basic Cairn for a long time, but since that one is for active use, I wanted to buy a pair that I could wear more for daily life!"
Shige, who manages all of Circles' media.
The EVO C model has a thicker footbed than other models, providing excellent cushioning that is perfect for everyday use.
Since characteristics differ by model, rotating between pairs like Shige does is also a valid option. They might also be great as sandals to rest your feet in after taking off your cycling shoes.
There’s a video of Shige interviewing BEDROCK founder Dan at "Off the Grid" in April, so be sure to check that out too!
Shibuya / Cairn Evo 3D Pro Sandals / Block Landscape

Reason for choosing: "I want to experience the high-end model of BEDROCK."
I quite like sandals, and besides BEDROCK, I own a certain outdoor sandal brand and some barefoot sandals. I also once bought Vibram soles thinking I’d make my own huaraches (though I haven't made them yet).
The reasons why it's the high-end BEDROCK model are the use of Vibram MEGAGRIP for the outsole, the 3D-shaped footbed, and the hook-style heel strap.
In other words, it has a stronger grip, the footbed conforms to the foot, and the strap holds securely.
I wore the Evo 3D Pro barefoot at OMM. Pushing my bike on mountain paths or descending trails was no problem at all. Sandals are more than enough—actually, sandals feel better because you can feel more of nature.
Everyone is different, and everyone is great
BEDROCK has many models, and you might be confused about which one is right for you at first.
However, if you have an idea of the "scenarios you want to use them in," you should be able to find the model that suits you!
We carry various models in-store, so please come by to try the fitting and experience the differences between models!
You can also purchase them via our WebShop, so please print out the fitting sheet found on the product page and use it!
See you next time 🚵
