What was once a deep black has, over the course of about a year and a half, taken on a whitish hue and developed a great character. While I’m obviously in love with that look and the fact that they don’t give in despite the hard use from commuting and weekend rides—and fairly frequent washing—there’s something else that surprises me…
The seat looks just as good as the rest.
If you take a close look, you can see that the change in appearance is almost uniform throughout. What I mean is that the seat, which rubs against the saddle, is no different from any other part of the shorts. Typically, the area that rubs against the saddle would be much lighter in color, but that’s not the case here. Furthermore, there is absolutely no sign of the fabric thinning out or losing its integrity.
This durability against friction is exactly the true essence of Durable Cotton.

In addition to their durability, the superior stretch is another notable feature of this Durable Cotton. It’s become routine for me to follow up "Just look at these!" with "Go ahead and try pulling them!" People are usually surprised by the unexpected stretch when they actually pull the fabric, and once they try them on, many are convinced by how easy they are to move in.
The wide range of six sizes, from 28 to 38 inches in 2-inch increments, is also a major draw.
By the way, this Ca Grizzly Brown that I'm wearing is my personal recommendation. This color, reminiscent of American workwear, is easy to imagine developing a great look over time, just like the black ones.
