【QUOC】Ride with Gran Tourer Series

The other day, Yoga from the Indonesian bike shop Sun Chasers Club House came to visit us in Nagoya, so we went for a ride together! Actually, back before the pandemic, when he was studying abroad in Japan, he lived near Circles and would often come by the shop or join us for rides. This visit was our first reunion since COVID began, and it was great to finally enjoy some saddle talk together again.

Looking back, the last time we rode together was during Golden Week in 2019. Yoga has become a much stronger cyclist since then; he climbed hills that used to give him trouble with such ease that I was the one getting left behind... Regardless, it was a fun ride for everyone from start to finish.

The Maia sunglasses from FLOAT OUTDOOR that I recently picked up.
I discovered that the temples, which contain magnets for the included magnetic holder, can also be easily secured to a steel frame.

Oh, and I’ve recently started using polarized sunglasses from FLOAT OUTDOOR, and they are fantastic. The flexible temples are comfortable even for someone like me with a larger head, and they’re handy to quickly hang around my neck when it gets dark. They’ve already become a staple not just for riding, but for fishing as well. I actually discovered during this ride that because there are magnets in the temples, you can conveniently rest them on your bike frame when taking a break.

We’re hosting a POP UP at Circles this weekend, so please come by and try them out for yourself.

On another note, six out of the seven of us on this ride were wearing QUOC shoes, and we actually had the entire Tourer lineage represented, from the first-generation model all the way to this year’s new Gran Tourer XC! Since it happened so naturally, I made sure to capture a photo of everyone’s matching gear.

That stunning pair of brown leather shoes on the bottom right is the original Tourer. A customer of ours who had been wearing them for years loved them so much that he bought a spare pair, and he only just started wearing these new ones now that he’s finally worn the first pair out.

Seeing them all like this, you can really see the evolution of QUOC. As Monja wrote in his blog, both the laces and the dials have their own unique characteristics, but this ride reminded me once again that no matter the generation, QUOC shoes combine beautiful design with the kind of comfort that handles any type of ride perfectly.
