Hello everyone, nice to meet you. I'm Takagi, and I mainly handle shipping and inventory management.
The season for delicious calories is here. I am gaining weight beautifully again this year.
Well, I have two children, aged 7 and 4. (They are insanely cute.)
The photo below was taken two years ago. So cute.

When choosing their first kids' bikes, the Takagi family went with Yotsuba Cycle.
I’d like to write a bit about that today.
What is important for a kids' bike?
Choosing a first bike, or picking the next one as they grow, can often be confusing.
You think about many things, like the size matching your child's height, or whether to choose one with pedals or a balance bike...
But as people who ride bicycles regularly, you all know what is most important.
"Lightness is justice."
I'll say it again because it’s so important.
Lightness is justice!
Lightness is especially important for kids' bikes. A 1kg difference for a child with a small body means something different than it does for an adult.
Comparing it to common 16-inch kids' bikes with baskets, a typical one weighs about 12kg, while a Yotsuba Cycle is 7.5kg.

If your child wants to enjoy cycling, controlling a 12kg bike is quite difficult.
Being light makes it easier to start pedaling and control the bike.
So, what did I buy for my eldest son? A Yotsuba Cycle, of course!!
Why I chose Yotsuba Cycle
There are many reasons, but there are two major ones.
- They are light, and the sizes are more finely tuned compared to other manufacturers.
- The colors are cute.
Let me explain these points in a little more detail.
Reason 1: They are light, and the sizes are more finely tuned compared to other manufacturers.
In the case of Yotsuba Cycle, even within the same model, they are finely set in 2-inch increments, from 12 inches to 27.5 inches!

This photo is an excerpt from the manufacturer’s page, and the smallest size is prepared for children around 90cm tall.
By the way, 18-inch models are often not available from major bike manufacturers, so this makes it easier to solve the problem of children outgrowing their 16-inch bike, but not being ready for a 20-inch one yet.
Reason 2: The colors are cute.
Another reason is that the colors are just incredibly cute!!!
Because I want my cute, beloved children to ride a cute bike, don't you understandddd?!?!?!
Ahem, ahem... excuse me. I got a little carried away, but let me introduce the colors and various models with photos.

You can also check the details and prices of each model in our WEB SHOP.
For those who think, "Is it still too early for my child?"
At Circles, we have the perfect item for parents who are thinking, "Is a bike still too early for my child?"

This is a useful tool that transforms a kids' bike with pedals into a balance bike. Once they grow bigger, you can simply reinstall the crank you removed so they can ride their favorite bike for a long time.

And by removing the crank, chainring, chain, and pedals, it gets even lighter! (You can think of it as roughly 0.9kg lighter than in the chart above!)
If we follow the iron law I mentioned at the beginning, "Lightness is justice," then this must be supreme justice...!

Wait, isn't a regular balance bike just fine? To all the fathers and mothers out there thinking that!
The important things are:
・They can practice on the same bike!
It is better to practice pedaling on a bike they are already used to than switching to a different bike after learning on a balance bike.
・It has brakes! ← This is the most important thing!
It goes without saying, but being able to operate brakes is extremely important for safety. It is better to learn how to use brakes early on.

How about a Yotsuba bike for your child's Christmas present?
This year, as part of our Christmas feature, we are offering simple gift wrapping for free! You can request this in-store, or if you are ordering from our web shop, just write "Wrapping requested" in the remarks section during purchase, and we will take care of it for you!
We have kids' bikes and accessories on display, so please feel free to consult with us! (They are also available in our web shop!)
Other important items are a helmet, gloves, and for children riding for the first time, protectors are necessary to help reduce fear.

By the way, since Yotsuba Cycle has a 27.5-inch model, my wife also rides one.

It’s wonderful for parents and children to go to the park on Yotsuba bikes!
With that said, have a Merry Christmas, everyone!
