【OMM LITE / BIKE】 Are you ready?

Has everyone finished registering for OMM LITE / BIKE? We at Circles will be participating as well!!

After the cancellation of the last event in Yogo, OMM LITE / BIKE is finally here. I’m sure many of you have been looking forward to it, so let’s enjoy the nature of Hakuba to the fullest.

This will be my second time participating, following last year, and I’m quite fired up to redeem myself. I say that because, last year, I made a silly mistake by only understanding the rules on the second day—but this year, since I actually know the rules, I’m starting from a different place!

The evening part is also one of the things I’m looking forward to. It’s truly fun to have drinks with old friends and new acquaintances. But, keep in mind that there’s a race the next day, so be careful not to drink too much, everyone!

Is your mandatory gear ready!?

Oh, right. Does everyone have their gear sorted? Are your mandatory items like rain gear, a first-aid kit, a compass, and a whistle ready to go? You can find the list of mandatory equipment on the official OMM website, so please check it out. Of course, Circles also carries outdoor gear needed for OMM, so please be sure to check our store or WEB SHOP.

Also, coordinating outfits as a team is one of the fun parts. Last year, I competed in matching Patagonia T-shirts with my buddy, Kacchan.

Since this is the first time the event is being held in October, those who have participated before might be wondering what to wear.

At this time of year, it tends to be cold before you start moving but gets hot once you get going, so I recommend choosing a style that allows for easy temperature regulation.

I’d like to introduce my recommended style here, so I hope you find it helpful.

Autumn OMM Recommended Style

PATAGONIA M’s Merino 3/4 Sleeved Bike Jersey

Going in full cycling kits is fine, but I like a more casual look, so I plan to go with shorts and a long-sleeve T-shirt. Since you'll be running around quite a bit, it’s even safer to wear bibs underneath your shorts.

RAL Player Shirt Chambray

Late October in Hakuba will likely be quite cold, so I think it’s a good idea to bring a shirt that you can easily throw on if it gets chilly. Another option is to use your mandatory rain gear to handle the cold. In any case, dressing in layers that are easy to adjust is best for this time of year.

If you have any questions, please come by the store and ask!

See you at the venue!
