Jackie-san of Jindaiji Mountain Works creates gear that bridges the gap between play and everyday life—including hiking, biking, and fishing—all based on his own personal experience.
As far as we know, he is one of the first people in Japan to have started wearing Bedrock Sandals. In his column "poorboystimes," which appears in every issue of "GO OUT" magazine, he introduces various pieces of gear with plenty of humor while also cutting to the core of what makes them essential, and he has already written a passionate article about Bedrock Sandals in the past.
We invited Jackie-san to join us for an interview about BEDROCK. We grilled him on everything from his perspective on huarache sandals to how he first discovered BEDROCK, so be sure to check out the Circles YouTube channel to hear his unstoppable, passionate talk!

Jackie-san also competed in the BIKE category at last weekend's OMM LITE/BIKE in Hakuba, teaming up with Jerry Ukai. Even though it was a cool Hakuba, it was a tough race with blazing sun during the day on both days, but he enjoyed the ride wearing his BEDROCK / Cairn 3D ProⅡ!
I was on the camera crew for this year's OMM, chasing various teams to get photos, and I got to follow the Jackie and Jerry team for a bit as well. It really felt like they lived up to their reputation, with their efficient route planning and smart point accumulation. Stay tuned for a photo report on the OMM coming soon.

We've also featured Jackie-san's competition style in our with Bicycle section, so be sure to check that out along with the YouTube interview!
