Even though we knew for certain it would be a day of extreme heat, not a single person suggested canceling the holiday ride. It was hot—truly, incredibly hot. We rode through gravel paths covered by trees and even managed to jump into a river when we couldn't take it anymore, but places without any shade from the sun were truly brutal.
Enjoying a ride on such a day requires more mental and physical stamina than usual, and while replenishing water and electrolytes is vital, you also have to be very selective about what you wear.
