As a self-proclaimed shopaholic, my first purchase of the year is quite important, and my usual custom has been to buy clothes I’d had my eye on during a sale.
However, as for my first purchase this year, I ended up buying a TONE ratchet set for home use because it happened to be a bit discounted when I stopped by during a New Year's ride. It made me realize that people can change. Lol

ZODIAC BAGGAGE Circles Tokyo Specials
San Francisco, the home of ZODIAC BAGGAGE, has long been a city with many messengers. The messenger community there is tight-knit; they have unions, run funds for the injured, and even publish Zines. This is a handmade bag brand created by Trevor Beans, a former San Francisco messenger with such deep connections.
The various products he creates are based on existing messenger bags and backpacks, and while paying homage to them, they are bags full of originality, packed with his own unique ideas.
And these are rugged bags capable of withstanding constant use by messengers racing through the city, rain or shine, in sun or snow.
We placed our order for these Tokyo special colorways with ZODIAC BAGGAGE at the beginning of last August. After about half a year, they have finally arrived!

A messenger bag that adapts to the user's body
There are many messenger bag brands out there, but my personal favorite point about ZODIAC BAGGAGE is this shoulder fitting adjuster. It’s a mechanism often used in outdoor brand backpacks with a capacity of over 30L.
Generally, when you fill a bag of this size, it becomes quite heavy, but thanks to this adjuster, the bag fits snugly against the curve of your back, giving you the sensation of carrying it with your whole back, not just your shoulders.
To enable speedy deliveries, while maintaining a structure that allows you to take out items without taking the bag off, this gimmick provides a greater effect than those found on outdoor bags. It’s a small detail, but the difference between having it and not is huge—you can really feel Trevor’s love for the user in this part.
Also, the main strap is removable, so it’s a nice touch that you can switch between left or right shoulder carry according to your preference. Furthermore, the large-capacity L and XL sizes are equipped with a 3-point stability strap, providing even further load reduction and a secure fit.
By using the external buckles and the included straps, you can even carry large items that wouldn’t fit inside the bag. They were also a huge help during the Cargobike Race held at BIKELORE late last year!
