A Love Letter to Cycling

We’re excited to announce the arrival of new frames from WILDE BICYCLE CO. (hereafter WILDE), a bike brand founded by former ALL-CITY team member Jeff, Jeffrey G Frane, and Josh Klauck, owner of ANGRY CATFISH BICYCLE, one of Minneapolis’s most iconic bike shops. Minneapolis is a proud bike town known across the U.S. as the birthplace of SURLY.
If you’re wondering what WILDE is all about, be sure to check out this blog post, too.

The person you can’t leave out when talking about WILDE is Jeff himself. He visited Japan many times during his ALL-CITY days, so many of you probably know him already.
Jeff loves cycling because it’s fast, innovative, honest, and versatile. He loves every kind of cycling and believes bikes have the power to change lives. WILDE was born as a way for him to pour all of his experience, knowledge, and passion into a brand—and it’s truly a love letter from Jeff to cycling.
Jeff welcomed his first child this spring and became a dad. WILDE also seems to have new models and component plans in the works, so he’s leading a busy but fulfilling life both at work and at home.
This latest shipment from WILDE includes:
Supertramp
Rambler
Rambler SL
These three models. Supertramp is a first-time arrival for us, so we’ll take a closer look at it in this blog post.
Supertramp – The All-Terrain Bike

The Supertramp is WILDE’s take on a flat-bar bikepacking/ATB platform.
A self-proclaimed bike geek, Jeff is especially passionate about vintage mountain bikes. The recent revival of Old MTB and ATB bikes over the past few years has made him happy—and it’s no exaggeration to say he helped spark the trend himself.

The Supertramp takes the best features of those bikes, updates them with modern functionality and technology, and elevates them into one of the most practical and comfortable bikes in cycling history.

The frame clears tires up to 29 x 2.6″ and comes equipped with mounts for all kinds of racks, accessories, and bags.

An all-terrain bike built for bikepacking and trekking is a truly versatile platform for a comfortable cycling life, whether you’re heading out on a month-long backcountry tour or just making a quick run to the store.
Go anywhere and do anything. If you’re looking for one bike to explore all the possibilities of cycling, the Supertramp may be the perfect choice.

Rambler / Rambler SL – Versatile Gravel Bikes
The Rambler and Rambler SL were developed as more accessible alternatives to the Earth Ship, WILDE’s U.S.-made, handmade frame. Based on an all-around steel frame that could be considered the ideal gravel bike, they’re available with either an original steel fork or a carbon fork to suit your needs. They’re great built with drop bars, and the Rambler in particular is also a fun bike with flat bars.
Another welcome update is the addition of an XS size, making these bikes a great option for riders under 160 cm tall.

No Detail Overlooked on the Original Carbon Forks

The Wayfinder Carbon Fork used on the Rambler SL is unusual among gravel carbon forks in being compatible with a standard 1-1/8″ head tube. It’s a handy fork for upgrading a Rambler to carbon in the future, or for converting a SURLY Straggler or ALL-CITY Space Horse to a carbon fork.

New to the lineup is the Waypoint Carbon Fork, featuring a 1.5″ steerer compatible with 44 mm and tapered head tubes.
When Jeff wanted to get serious about having fun—not competing—he felt that many carbon forks on the market were too heavy and stiff. So he designed this fork from the ground up at WILDE. It’s light yet fully equipped, with three-pack mounts, internal routing for dynamo and brake cables, and fender mounts. It has everything you need for gravel riding, exploring, and bikepacking.
