TRUCE DESIGNS is a handmade bag manufacturer based in Portland, Oregon—a land rich in nature with a diverse field for activities.
The maker, Luke Mathers, draws inspiration from every field, being not only an expert in cycling, trekking, backcountry skiing, and snowboarding, but also in marine sports like sailing and surfing. He carefully translates these experiences into form and function to manufacture high-performance bags.
The main material is recycled sailcloth
The fabrics primarily used for all TRUCE bags are retired yacht sailcloths and scraps leftover from the manufacturing of dry suits. Even though they retain the functionality to keep being used, they are destined to be discarded once their set expiration dates pass. Having worked at a yacht manufacturing company and witnessed how these materials were constantly generated around him, he decided to use them to create new products.
Luke Mathers continues to make these products, believing that doing so helps protect the natural fields—the mountains and oceans—that serve as his own playground.

A simple, versatile bag
Made from scrap Dyneema and PU Nylon fabric, the concept behind this bag is to keep it simple so that it can be used for a variety of purposes.
It features a simple, single-compartment design that closes like a drawstring bag, making the opening very wide and easy to load. Not only is it easy to see what’s inside, but its compact design makes it convenient for daily carry.
Two pockets
Inside the bag, there is a zippered pocket and a small storage space on the back panel, allowing you to separate items like your smartphone and wallet.
Chest strap for a secure carry
The carefully engineered shoulder straps that fit the body reflect TRUCE’s expertise in creating bags for outdoor activities, and a chest strap is included so it can be carried even more securely.
Removable straps
You can remove the shoulder straps to use it like a tote bag.
It also works great as a shopping bag for quick errands.
