The Preamble, which we are introducing here, is designed without any eccentric handling quirks, making it particularly accessible for beginners.
To be more specific, while the quick handling characteristic of sports bikes can often feel daunting, the Preamble balances a stable ride with a light, exhilarating feel. It’s finished with just the right balance.
Wide height range with fewer sizes
One of the features of the Preamble is its size lineup.
It comes in five sizes—XS, S, M, L, and XL—which is a more limited range compared to models like the Straggler. While this has the disadvantage of making it harder for some users to find an exact fit, it has the advantage of lowering production costs. Furthermore, the geometry was carefully considered to ensure that many people can enjoy the bike with this limited size selection, covering a wide height range from 152cm to 200cm.
It strikes an exquisite balance between ride quality, rider height, and cost.

A new color for the Preamble has just arrived at Circles, so we're announcing it here 🔉
The color is "Red Hot Cheddar."
It’s not a pure red, nor is it a vibrant orange that reminds you of citrus.
True to its name, it’s a red that looks like a mix of chili peppers and cheddar cheese. It makes me want to eat tacos...
It's a colorway that even stimulates your appetite (?).
It is available in two sizes: XS and S.
This color seems like it would really make silver parts pop.
Making custom paint more accessible with "Kyutai Paint."
At Circles, we offer a painting service called "Kyutai Paint."
While we can do multi-color schemes or finishes with breathtaking depth, there is also a "powder paint" menu that allows you to change to your preferred color more easily, quickly, and affordably.
In line with SURLY's policy of wanting as many people as possible to experience the joy of cycling, they sell their own frame decals. By combining these with Kyutai Paint, the color options become even wider. It means you can change your bike to your favorite color whenever you want, not just limited to this new color.
Incidentally, the logo decals SURLY provides come in two colors: black and white. When combined with the 25 colors of powder paint, you can actually choose from 50 different combinations.

However, we’ve often encountered situations in the shop where even if a customer wants to decide on a color, it’s hard to visualize the result just by looking at small sample plates, which can be a hurdle.
