I’d like to introduce a very cool bike built by Ponderosa Cyclery, a bike shop in Nebraska.
The base for this build is the SURLY Trucker Deluxe.
Unfortunately, this model has since been discontinued. It was essentially a Long Haul Trucker equipped with S&S couplers, which allowed the frame to be taken apart.
It features a "dingle" setup for both the chainring and rear cog (allowing for single-speed operation with two gear combinations). It must have been a stroke of luck that the chain length fit perfectly, resulting in a minimalist assembly without the need for a tensioner.
The handlebar is a SIMWORKS BY NITTO / Mowmow Bar, the tires are SIMWORKS BY PANARACER / The Homage 26″, and if you look closely, the rims are VELOCITY / Nobs .
It wasn’t an expensive build, but it covers all the essentials, which makes it an assembly I personally really love.
It’s perfect for daily commuting, a bit of touring, and because it breaks down, you can even take it with you on trips. When you’re on a budget, you still want a bike that truly fits your lifestyle, right?
