Retrotec Half Road with Paul Component Racer Medium brakes.

After a year of waiting since it was ordered, this Retrotec custom frame has safely crossed the ocean to be with us.
The paint job was recently completed, and it has now departed to the owner who has been eagerly awaiting its arrival, so I’d like to introduce it here.

While it may look like a simple Half Top style road racer, it has been finished as a sportief-style modern racer that clears 30c tires. It features a color-matched Wound Up LRB fork and is optimized for Paul Component’s Racer Medium Brakes.

When the order was placed, it was decided that we would use the limited-edition CK Turquoise color from that time. Since the rest of the color scheme was left up to me, I gave it much thought and proposed this particular combination.

Personally, I feel this is exactly the kind of bike you’d expect from Curtis of Retrotec. Road racing tends to focus heavily on competition, but there is so much joy to be found in the various adventures of daily riding, and it is a fact that many who order a Retrotec are the types of people who know how to enjoy that side of cycling.

There is a beauty in the round-top style and a delicacy in the pipework that you would never imagine from the large physique of Curtis himself. There exists a clear standard of value that transcends mere specs, but having once served in the Air Force, he understands the essence of craftsmanship thoroughly, selecting the best tubing and finishing each frame with the utmost care. These bikes are incredibly lightweight, have excellent handling, and are remarkably lively. Just hop on one and you’ll understand everything.
