I went touring in Unzen, Nagasaki and Onomichi, Hiroshima at the end of the year, and I broke in a new pair of pants on that ride.

Actually, I wore them for final testing and shooting purposes, but they performed even better than expected, so I feel confident about releasing them.

RAL JEANS Details

We restarted RAL about two years ago and have released a few things, but we’ve received quite a number of requests for "jeans."

Jeans are a bit special when it comes to both the fabric and the manufacturing process, so it was difficult to make it happen, but thanks to the cooperation of everyone involved, we have finally finished them.

The patch above the back pocket—the face of any pair of jeans—features two keirin cyclists pulling at a pair of jeans. It’s an homage to the original denim manufacturer in San Francisco (the original uses a horse).

The fabric is from Okayama Prefecture. They are selvedge jeans.

In terms of fashion, 100% cotton is cooler. I know that. But when we think about our daily lives, stretch material is hard to give up.

So, we chose a stretch fabric that offers the best of both worlds and looks like 100% cotton.

Thanks to the stretch yarn, even fabric that looks rigid feels light and allows for stress-free movement.

The front is a zip fly. The zipper is, of course, the reliable YKK.

They come in two colors: Raw and Washed.

The Washed version has a softer touch, and only the Washed version has this detail (below).

The right pocket features the detail of accidentally (?) washing a SUGINO Super Gigas 17T (NJS) sprocket in the pocket! (It sounds like a joke, but I really did wash it with the real thing, lol).

It’s a silly detail, but it’s kind of cool in its own way, don't you think?

NITTO

And one of the features of these pants is this part right here.

For the top button, we collaborated with everyone's favorite, NITTO, using an actual NITTO bar-end cap.

This is likely the first time one has ever been used for anything other than a bar end.

The top button structure is attached to a female receiver (made by YKK) with a 2.5mm bolt.

It can come off if it loosens, so please apply some Loctite or tighten it occasionally with a 2.5mm Allen key.

Fitting

The RAL JEANS are packed with mysterious attention to detail, and they come in six sizes from 26 to 36 inches (26, 28, 30, 32, 34, 36 inches).

Thanks to this, everyone from the smallest person at our company to our larger men can wear them.

Our larger staff member (Asai-chan) is 178cm and 105kg and wears a perfect size.

Our smallest staff member (Chanmai-san) is 151cm and wears a loose fit.

RAL JEANS can cover all of our Circles staff, so I'm sure you will be able to find the perfect fit as well.
