There are many things that Circles believes in.
We are right in the middle of cyclocross season now, and as I think to myself how fun racing really is, I’ve been busily taking part in them as well. On a personal note, I entered the C category for the opening race of the Tokai Cyclocross and finished on the podium in 3rd place! (Although, I spectacularly slowed down for the second race the other day, finishing in 10th...)
This, too, is one of the things that Circles believes in.

Putting that self-indulgent story aside, if we turn our eyes to everyday life, various bicycles are brought into Circles for repairs every day.
The types of bikes range from hybrids and road bikes to BMX, but the vast majority of them are, without a doubt, mamachari (city bikes).
Circles is a bike shop. So, repairing mamachari is only natural.
Even today, from the morning on, it was flat tire repair, flat tire repair, tire and tube replacement, and then another flat tire repair. But it's a fact that I don't find it a burden at all—rather, I genuinely enjoy the work. Why? Because the mamachari is the bicycle most deeply integrated into people's lives; you could say it's a tool for daily living.
Since it is a tool, it’s unavoidable that it gets treated roughly. They are built tougher than sports bikes with that in mind, but they still break when they break. It is our job to repair them.
However, it is also a fact that there are moments when I feel sad.
"If it costs that much to repair, it's cheaper to just buy a new one."
People's values differ from person to person, so perhaps it’s inevitable that some think that way.
But as a bike shop, it’s our natural desire to want people to ride the bicycles they’ve obtained for as long as possible and use them to their full potential. We, too, have things we believe in.
One answer to that is this Circles Original Mamachari.

Using domestically produced staggered frames, we built them with the primary goal of making them simple and long-lasting. Regarding the paint, we chose colors you don't see on typical mamachari, with the wish that you will enjoy riding them every day. Of course, it’s a durable powder coat by Kyutai Paint.

With a concept of being simple and only what is strictly necessary, we only installed a WALD basket on the front. We believe it's best if you add things like lights or locks as needed based on how you ride. After all, lighter is always better, and a simple look is best, right?

While building these, I imagined all of you pedaling these original mamachari for commuting to work or school, or running errands to the supermarket.
Why not make this mamachari your companion in daily life? If you adjust the saddle properly and really get a feel for how to ride it, it will surely be a different experience than the mamachari you’ve ridden before. I believe that this one bike will become your partner, enriching every moment of your daily life more than ever before.
