Happy New Year.
How did you spend your year-end and New Year holidays?
As for me, I spent two days at the end of the year at an Izu training camp organized by Monja-shi from SimWorks. I enjoyed riding in Izu for the first time with an all-star cast including the owner of Aliba, SimWorks XC Racing god Ebiko, and the legendary Yano-san from Rapha. Amidst a wonderful environment of sea, mountains, food, and hot springs, riding on roads I had never traveled before was one surprise and thrill after another. There are still so many worlds out there that I don't know yet. I hope to share this excitement with many of you this year. I look forward to working with you all again this year!
We will open for business for 2016 tomorrow, Monday, Jan 4th, at 10:00 AM!
And, our first RAL COMMUNE of the New Year will also be held on the 4th!
We are waiting for everyone with a full program including mochi-pounding, kakizome (first calligraphy of the year), and running! For those who ended up taking it a bit too easy over the holidays, why not get a fresh start to the New Year with a run?
Please note that due to the RAL COMMUNE event, Early Birds will resume regular business hours from the 5th.
RAL COMMUNE Schedule
10:00 AM–: Complimentary drinks & Kakizome
12:00 PM–: Mochi-pounding
2:00 PM–: New Year's Run
Of course, that's not all!
At Circles, starting from 1/4 to 1/11, we are hosting a New Year's Sale, featuring apparel lucky bags and special New Year's spotlight bikes!
The lucky bags are divided into performance and casual categories, and we also have a solid selection of ladies' lucky bags! They usually sell out on the first day every year, so please don't miss out.
And our spotlight bikes are a real treat. In honor of Aliba's 3rd anniversary and Circles' 9th, we're going big! If the size fits, these are special offers you'll want to snap up immediately!
Surly “Straggler” size: 42cm (650B)
¥218,900 → ¥173,900
A commuter custom build of the Surly Straggler 650B. It's assembled to serve as a reliable bike for commuting or heading into town, while still being fully capable of weekend touring or longer rides in the future. The size is a great option for smaller riders under 160cm. A double-leg kickstand is also included as standard equipment.
All City “Nature Boy Zona” size: 52cm
¥235,000 → ¥183,900
These days, choices for cantilever brake frames are more limited than in the past, but All City continues to offer a cantilever model specifically as an SSCX. They really do distill their own experiences as real riders into their manufacturing. This special edition frame, built using Columbus ZONA tubing as the name suggests, has been assembled with race-ready parts. Without a doubt, it will also prove itself to be an excellent companion for your daily rides.
¥297,400 → ¥239,000
Unfortunately, the Salsa Colossal 2 disappeared from the catalog in the 2016 model year. It is a disc-road bike that is perfect for one-day touring or gravel rides. It clears tires up to 28c, so riding on some light unpaved roads is no problem at all. It comes with a reliable Tiagra-based assembly. Personally, I'm a big fan of the color from this year.
Cielo By Chris King “CX Racer” size: S
¥485,000 → ¥390,000
And, the most notable of our spotlight bikes is the 2012 model Cielo CX Racer. From this year, the CX Racer frame became disc-brake only, meaning cantilever frames will no longer be available. This is great news for those who want to utilize their existing road wheels. Of course, it is equipped with parts like TRP CX-9 brakes and tubeless-ready tires and rims, making it a bike you can take straight into a CX race.
All four bikes are available for a limited time at a one-off special spotlight price.
I hope you will come and see them for yourself with your own eyes!
With that, I look forward to your continued patronage in the New Year!
Just to reiterate, we begin our New Year's business tomorrow, 1/4, at 10:00 AM. All of our staff look forward to seeing you!
