First bike check of the new year.

The first bike check of the New Year is this Cielo Sportif, which was built up at the end of last year.
This newly updated Sportif, which integrates the Sportif Classic and Sportif Racer, uses long-reach calipers to clear tires up to 32c. Naturally, it carries on the fender mounts that were a feature of the Sportif Classic, making it a bike that truly embodies the modern Sportif concept in the signature Cielo style.

The chosen color is Oyster 2, which we’ve matched with a Turquoise headset—a limited edition color that is no longer in production.

On a side note, this year's limited color, Sour Apple, is available for order until the end of April. We have key headsets and hub sets in stock at the shop. Since you won't be able to get these limited colors later even if you want them, I’d suggest that when the thought strikes you, it’s the best time to act.

Now, the owner of this bike is a young guy who also joined us for RIDEALIVE. Back then, he rode with us on a rack-equipped SSCX, but he chose this Sportif to help him venture further afield in search of unknown lands and new scenery.

Unlike a traditional road racer, it’s not a bike built strictly for connecting point A to point B at speed, but
with its stable handling and smooth, effortless acceleration, it is a quintessential modern Cielo Sportif—a bike built to keep pushing forward regardless of the challenges it faces. And at its destination, I’m sure all sorts of experiences await: incredible views from a mountaintop, pristine gravel roads no one has ridden yet, or a delicious meal shared with friends while recounting the day's ride.
